Role Overview:
The Hydraulic Technician is responsible for the assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems and related equipment. This role supports both in-house manufacturing and field service operations, ensuring that hydraulic power units, manifolds, piping, and associated components operate safely and efficiently. The technician will interpret technical drawings and schematics, perform troubleshooting and system diagnostics, and provide hands-on support during equipment commissioning and customer service activities. Success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.
Work Environment:
· This position will work in both shop and field environments.
· Travel required up to 70% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and maintain electro-hydraulic systems including hydraulic power units, integrated manifolds, and high-pressure piping.
- Perform hydraulic system troubleshooting, repair, and testing to ensure proper operation.
- Support commissioning and start-up activities at customer sites.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on hydraulic equipment.
- Assist with hydraulic component selection and installation under guidance from engineering.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, bills of materials, and technical drawings.
- Provide hands-on support during manufacturing, purchasing, and shipping processes.
- Work with sales and engineering teams to resolve customer equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Follow company and industry safety standards during all work activities.
- Identify and report all safety observations.

Critical Competencies for Success:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including assembly, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Technical degree, certification, or vocational training in hydraulics, mechanics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with hydraulic power units (HPUs), manifolds, valves, and piping preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical/electronic interfacing with hydraulic systems is a plus.
- Field service experience and willingness to travel for equipment commissioning and support is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work from schematics and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, and hydraulic diagnostic instruments.
- Good computer skills – Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and customers.
- Problem-solving mindset with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to learn and apply new technical skills

Pay range: Minimum $65,000 - 85,000
Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
