Role Overview:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused IT Support Specialist to provide technical assistance and support for corporate computer systems, software, and hardware. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot problems, diagnose software or hardware issues, and help users through step-by-step solutions. This role is critical in maintaining business productivity and ensuring smooth IT operations.

Work Environment: On-site - Houston, TX

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Respond to IT support requests via phone, email, chat, or ticketing systems.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and applications.
  • Perform system upgrades, updates, and routine maintenance.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords in Active Directory and other systems.
  • Support network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and VPN troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and support procedures.
  • Provide onboarding and offboarding IT support for new and departing employees.
  • Work with third-party vendors or escalate unresolved issues to senior IT staff as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain IT inventory and asset management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and data security best practices.


 

Critical Competencies for Success:

Required:

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support or helpdesk roles.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of Office 365, Active Directory, and basic networking.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, Jira).
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Workspace, AWS).

 

Pay range: $65,000 – $80,000

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
