Work Environment: 2nd Shift Production Supervisor, On site, M-TH, 3pm- 1:30am.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day activities of a fast-paced production operation.
- Adjust workforce schedules to achieve the delivery goals.
- Audit production performance and utilization, provide feedback to employees.
- Assess daily attendance and move required personnel to meet scheduling requirements.
- Cross-train the work force to manage production fluctuations.
- Monitor Scrap and re-work and develop Corrective Actions.
- Perform lean problem-solving techniques using 5 Whys, 3C’s, Fishbone Etc.
- Monitor work center workload, offloading workload to open work centers.
- Work closely with the CNC programming department to ensure proper tools and fixtures are available in time to meet the schedule.
- Perform weekly 5s audits. Ensuring that the findings of the audits are rectified.
- Ensure that tasks and processes are safe.
- Create new or revise Work Instructions as needed.
- Ensure the shop is organized and clean so product flows through shop efficiently.
- Must be able to interact with Engineering, Materials Management and Purchasing
- Work to satisfy the downstream customer i.e., Assembly by constant communication.
- Create new part routings and update current routers to most efficient processes.
- Create re-work operations when needed.
- Create maintenance workorders as needed.
- Create Purchase Requisitions for supplies
Critical Competencies for Success:
- Education: Minimum associates degree in a manufacturing discipline or at least 10 years of machine shop experience.
- Experience: at least 10 years in a machine shop environment
- Preferred: CNC programming experience, LEAN Training and experience implementing
Pay range: $80,000 – $95,000 annually
Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
