Work Environment: Remote, 50% travel annually

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a Silencer business plan and sales strategy that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. 
  • Lead Americas Silencer product line, including sales, pricing, and product configuration for silencers.
  • Work closely with Silencer design engineers to address customer problems. 
  • Provide technical assistance to customers, Business Line Managers and Sales staff (internal and external).
  • Create and conduct training presentations to Sales Representatives, Distributors and Engineers in technical product applications, features, competitive characteristics and value proposition.
  • Interact with customer, sales and marketing personnel, cross-functional departments and customers regarding solving customer problems, providing solutions, and applications. Select and design appropriate solutions for customers utilizing existing product and recommendation for alternatives with input from engineering.
  • Travel to customers and distributors for product training. Up to 50% travel.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise in competitor analysis, customers’ products and applications for target market segments.
  • Translate conceptual ideas and customer input into potential new product design opportunities. Draw from customers the value of our products or new products.
  • Determine product applications focused on providing customer solutions.
  • Define and implement pricing strategies in line with market opportunities and assist Business Line Manager to develop market forecast, strategic and operating plans and drive product cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support cross-functional team in improving and maintaining product configuration databases.
  • Work with the manufacturing site to meet shipment goals through book to ship opportunities.
  • Learn and understand the Silencer Cost Model program and work with engineering to drive quick turn-a-round of quotes and proposals.
  • Effectively communicate the customer scope to the plant. 
  • Reporting and KPI tracking pertaining to Silencer sales and booking progress. 


 

Critical Competencies for Success:

  • 5 years or more experience in application engineering or product management in the energy sector – Power, O&G, Nuclear, Refining, Midstream, Petrochemical.
  • In depth knowledge of the application of different sound attenuation products and automation packages to solve customer problems.
  • Knowledge of basic design, manufacturing, bill of materials, QA, assembly and test of Silencers. 
  • Ability to identify market and customer needs and make recommendations; conduct product training presentations to customers and sales staff.
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in resolving customer relations inquiries and problems.
  • Demonstrate initiative in independently researching and resolving inquiries and problems.
  • Ability to take a concept and translate it into a product design.
  • Experience in selection and management of sales channels (agents and distributors).
  • Drone license or willingness to be qualified a plus.
  • Necessary qualifications to enter power plants, and refineries may be required.  Background checks and drug screening required.



Pay range: $105,000 – $130,000

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

 

Bonus eligibility: This position is also eligible for a variable incentive pay component, separate from base salary.
