We are curious and like to solve problems, partnering with our customers to solve the demands of today and prepare for the challenges of tomorrow. We embrace innovation and care about outcomes that are good for business, everyday life and making a better world – creating lasting impact for everyone.

We design, build and service highly engineered products in fluid and motion control applications. We focus on five market sectors: Industrial Automation, Process Automation, Climate Control, Life Science and Fluid Control, and Transport.

Role Overview
An engineering role within the Operations team, this position is responsible for producing all relevant production documentation, routings, procedures, equipment and risk assessments for Assembly and Pressure test to enable the successful production of various valves for the Oil & Gas, Nuclear and Marine sectors.
The role will also require supporting and training operators and production engineers, preparing proposals for new equipment, running departmental/customer facing projects whilst consulting with other departments to ensure that health, safety, environmental and security requirements are maintained to the highest level.

Key Responsibilities
Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Use of CAD software to produce assembly tooling, welding tooling and pressure test tooling across a range of standard and non-standard products. Ensure correct storage and location of equipment maintaining 5S principles.
  • Create standard operating procedure documentation, including all information regarding fixtures, and inspection points. Ensure additional key notes and photos are added to aid driving a right first-time quality production approach.
  • Ensure new and updated standard operating procedure documentation is stored in the correct database location and revision controls are adhered to and updated as required.
  • Use the ERP/MRP system to add and maintain data owned by production engineering including part numbers, routes, bills of material, work centres and batch sizes.
  • Design and prove out new production lines ensuring all equipment is define/documented and production times documented before handing over to production.
  • Conduct PFMEA's to ensure that all designs are fit for manufacture at the most efficient cost.
  • Identify waste within the manufacturing processes and lead continuous improvement activities and process improvements by organising meetings and workshops and actively contributing to the agreed action plan.
  • Select and implement the introduction of new production processes such as kanban systems, whilst interfacing with manufacturing/operations to identify the most cost-effective solution by following lean principles.
  • Define Capex justification requirements to support with, and make improvements to, a wide range of production techniques/equipment for assembly of components, including pressure testing, metrology, production validation documentation and final inspection.
  • Identify new machinery and equipment requirements by assessing the needs of the business and researching alternative options and providers. Prepare CAPEX requests and work with management & finance to submit robust proposals for approval.
  • Assist production team with their day-to-day production requirements by providing them with technical assistance and problem-solving solutions.
  • Co-ordinate project teams when appropriate to ensure the related small team of engineers efficiently deliver the project workload.
  • Check, verify, and sign off work completed by Level 1,2 and 3 Production Engineers as appropriate, providing mentorship if required.
  • Review cost of products, and cost of poor quality by reviewing and responding to NCRs as required. Raise, and respond to, change requests to prevent reoccurrence of quality issues.
  • Support with continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing activities such as 3C's, RCA's and SMED by attending meetings and workshops and actively contributing to the agreed action plan.
  • Identify defective products and processes that require a cross-functional team to review. Organise and lead RCAs to get to the root cause of an issue. Implement corrective actions to provide swift and permanent resolutions.
  • Design test methods and customer solutions where the needs of production cannot be met within a standard offering without compromising health and safety.
  • Monitor production output through utilisation, OEE and production bottle-neck reviews. Analyse data and trends to implement improvement actions to work towards 'world-class' productivity.
  • Contribute to value analysis and value engineering projects (VAVE) and deliver quality engineering production solutions in response to development, manufacturing, and operational needs.
  • Perform other such duties commensurate with the nature and level of the post as may be reasonably required.
