Instrumentation
Instrumentation goes to market with IMI’s range of high integrity instrumentation products for offshore oil and gas platforms, refineries and chemical plants. Our precision components are at the heart of the energy and chemical industry’s most marvellous machines – with market leading fluid control products tackling the most extreme operating conditions and engineering challenges on the planet.
At the heart of our offering are Actuators, Positioners Final Control elements like solenoid valves, air preparation equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic pressure switches, I/P and E/P convertors, and redundant valve manifold systems (RVM). In addition, Instrumentation will be working to bring a new range of monitoring devices to market.
Role Overview·
The Country Sales Manager-US, Instrumentation will be responsible for aligning the regional sales strategy with PA and global instrumentation strategic plans, whilst developing and executing regional strategic sales, channel business and commercial plans to achieve revenue and margin targets, expand customer base in targeted segments and successfully appraise new opportunities and ROI. The focus of the strategy should be on growing the Aftermarket, New Construction, and Key Account OEM business by making a strong footprint in the US as well as on successfully generating new customer solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build an intimate understanding of the customers and market dynamics of the Instrumentation sector through a clear market mapping cascade at a sector, regional and global level.
- Ensure above market revenue growth through an active and qualified pipeline of project by leveraging the existing customer base and acquiring new customers.
- Take responsibility for delivering sales & gross margin for the Instrumentation sector and ensure budget is delivered as part of the strategy.
- Managing the book-to-ship process to improve the in-year sales and to consolidate the strategy for the long-term sales.
- Support the Instrumentation sales targets by developing effective pipeline forecast processes and aligning to global commercial projects.
- Ensure closely cross collaboration with customer Service, technical sales support, R&D, product management /marketing, legal, Growth Hub and Operations.
- Capitalise on and further develop the aftermarket focus and growth accelerator opportunities to generate new growth in line with strategic plan.
Critical Competencies for Success
- 10+ years sales experience with relevant industry experience and knowledge of the target market.
- Proven, robust and successful experience in senior, global sales in the engineering/technology sector.
- A strong growth mindset with a track record of success – proven to deliver results not just operate at the strategic or theoretical level.
- Highly commercial and results driven with skills in managing both core process and bringing a creative and innovative approach.
- Ability to operate within a global, project-based manufacturing/ technology business and a balance of working both strategically and operationally.
- Proven track record of significant leadership and of delivering results and improved performance
- Experience in a metrics focused environment including weekly and monthly quarterly reporting and analysis.
- Full understanding and proven ability to enhance revenue, margins and operating profit to meet near term and long-term goals.
- Proven ability to build and retain effective relationships within the industry – with internal and external customers.
- Financial acumen – business, commercial, and financial savvy, and the ability to ‘speak and understand’ the financial language of IMI.
- Ability to travel (approximately 50%)
